History

The first Coleford Carnival of Transport was the brainchild of a local classic car enthusiast and resident of Coleford.

With the help of a few willing volunteers and the support of the local Councils the first Carnival was held on Easter Monday 1998.

That first Carnival was attended by around 250 exhibitors. The vehicles were parked on closed roads in Coleford town centre.

Since then the Carnival has grown in many ways. The early exhibitors were all individuals. Club entries have been introduced to provide a broader view of individual marques.

We are pleased that most of our individual exhibitors have been supporting the Carnival since it began.
